Award-winning composer, arranger and singer,
Roger Treece,
will lead a Circlesong master class
Saturday, June 7, 2008 - 12:00 - 4:00 pm
Circlesong, a singing technique based on improvised group chants, helps deepen the musical imagination and expands the creativity of the singer. The Circlesong technique was developed and popularized by Mr. Treece’s long-time collaborator, Bobby McFerrin. Mr. Treece has led similar Circlesong workshops throughout the United States and Europe.
Weston resident, Cathy Ryan Sherman, who participated in a previous master class, said, “Roger Treece’s Circlesongs workshop was amazing. He tapped into our natural improvisational abilities, creating the musical equivalent of a kaleidoscope. The colors, textures and patterns of sound were continually changing.”
The workshop is open to those who have had some singing experience. It emphasizes improvisation, creativity and exploring the potential of voice.
The cost is $25 per person.
Advanced registration is required.
